Significantly enhanced the center’s visibility, resources, and ability to provide services:

 

Partnered with Epiphany Lutheran Church on a successful fundraising event in 1987 that provided the center with the financial resources to increase interpreter services for hearing impaired clients.

Developed and submitted a proposal to the Board of County Commissioners of Leon County, which secured a $2,500 grant for interpreter services, TDD/telephone relay coordination and provided seed funds that laid the groundwork for the 1987 establishment of an active Deaf Service Center, staffed with volunteers.

Developed and delivered presentations to the Tallahassee Northside Kiwanis Club, that increased community awareness that translated into financial support for the center.
