Research in the College of Communication

The faculty of Florida State University’s College of Communication is recognized for its scholarship and for its leadership of various academic and professional associations.

Members of the Department of Communication Disorders’ faculty have earned national reputations for their studies of autism and related disabilities, early identification and intervention, augmentative and alternative communication, and the treatment of neurogenic disorders associated with traumatic brain injuries, strokes, Alzheimer’s disease, and other disorders).

Members of the Department of Communication are national authorities in the fields of health communication, telecommunication policy, presidential rhetoric, and the social effects of television and other media. They also hold elective office in number of state, national and international organizations.
