Not sure what you want to do after graduation? Then don’t miss the Communication Career Awareness Day next Tuesday, March 20, in the Oglesby Student Union Ballroom.

From 1 to 2:30 p.m., a panel of prestigious professionals will share insights into their careers.
From 3 to 5 p.m., check out who’s hiring and for what jobs at the Career Expo.

"It’s an event specifically designed by the department and the Career Center to give you exposure to a broad spectrum of professionals which hire Communication graduates for internships and employment,” said Dr. Betty Ann Korzenny, who will serve as panel moderator.

Panelists include Michelle Dahnke, a Department of Communication graduate student and former gubernatorial fellow. She is project analyst for Evergreen Solutions, a Tallahassee firm that provides strategic consulting for public organizations.

Also on the panel are William Mills III, CEO of the William Mills Agency, a pre-eminent public relations firm for the financial services industry based in Atlanta; Lisa Rice, vice president and market manager for Clear Channel Radio, which operates five stations in the Tallahassee market; Scott VanDeman, director of communications for Volunteer Florida, the Governor’s Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service; and Joe Zubizaretta, COO of Zubi Advertising in Miami, which targets the Hispanic consumer using both traditional and non-traditional advertising approaches.

The Career Expo draws employers who are looking for FSU communication graduates for internships or employment in the future. So far, almost two dozen employers – both local and out-of-state – have reserved space.

Students should bring copies of their resume, on disk or on paper, and dress professionally.
