Applications for the Department of Communication scholarships for 2007 are due by 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007. Criteria vary for each scholarship, but each requires high academic achievement and full-time student status.
Scholarship recipients must be majors within the Department. Students who are applying to the department at both the graduate and undergraduate levels are also encouraged to apply. Applicants might be asked to appear in person for an interview.
Scholarships vary in amount from $500 to $5,000. Students may apply for more than one but can receive only one scholarship per year. A separate application packet must be submitted for each scholarship being sought.
All scholarship recipients will be required to attend the College of Communication annual Awards Day ceremony on Friday, April 6, 2007. In addition, university policy requires scholarship recipients to write a letter of appreciation to the scholarship donors, with a copy to the department, before scholarship funds are disbursed.
