Major Advising

Undergraduate Advising

Students accepted into the major with 60 or more hours will be assigned a department faculty advisor. The advisor will address questions regarding the major, course registration, courses to take for teacher certification, certificate program options, and other matters.

One semester before graduation, students normally meet with the Academic Coordinator to do a check of major requirements. Information will be sent to students on completing a graduation check.  Students also are required to do a graduation check with the Registrar's office once they reach 90 hours. Graduate Advising

Advising is normally held during Fall Orientation for new graduate students.  Each semester, group advising sessions are scheduled and conducted by the Graduate Coordinator and faculty advisors. Students in the major are provided additional information through the Blackboard website for Graduate Students.
